The theme for this year’s Nutrition Month campaign – “Malnutrisyon Patuloy na Labanan, First 1000 Days Tutukan!”
The theme calls for continued efforts to address malnutrition in the country which is expected to worsen as a result of the pandemic and limited resources for nutrition. The theme calls for all sectors to focus efforts on the First 1000 Days of life as the strategic intervention to prevent stunting and obesity.
To support the drive to eliminate, if not, lessen the malnutrition in the country, MMIS joins the campaign spearheaded by the Subject Area Coordinator in coordination with HELE Teachers, for one of their objectives is to provide awareness on the importance of observing health habits, proper nutrition and hygiene. With this, varied and relevant activities are prepared for the pupils/students to help them become aware of the importance of good nutrition and a healthful eating plan. The activities ensure healthy lives and promote well-being which is essential to sustainable development as well (SDG#3-Good Health and Well-being).
